SUN HEAT
When it comes to sun heat and your puppy, it’s important to take certain precautions to ensure their well-being.
To protect your puppy from the sun’s heat:
- Keep them in the shade: Provide a cool and shaded area for your puppy to rest. This will help them avoid direct sunlight and keep them cooler.
- Provide fresh water: Make sure your puppy has access to clean and fresh water at all times. In hot weather, they may need to drink more frequently, so keep an eye on their water bowl and refill it regularly.
- Avoid excessive exercise: Limit your puppy’s physical activity during the hottest parts of the day. Engage in play and exercise sessions during cooler times, such as early morning or late evening.
BURNED BEANS
To protect your puppies toes beans from getting burnt:
- Check the walking surface: Before taking your Pomeranian for a walk, touch the ground with the back of your hand. If it feels too hot for you, it’s likely too hot for your dog as well. Choose shaded routes or walk on grassy areas, as they tend to be cooler.
- Use protective booties: Consider using dog booties to protect your Pomeranian’s paws from hot surfaces. These can provide a barrier between their feet and the hot pavement.
- Observe your dog’s behavior: Watch for signs of discomfort or pain while walking, such as limping or attempting to lift their paws off the ground. If you notice any signs of burn or discomfort, it’s best to stop the walk and let their paws cool down.
Remember, it’s important to pay attention to your puppy’s needs and monitor them closely during hot weather. If you have any concerns about their health or well-being, it’s always a good idea to consult with a veterinarian.
